Brian Quote:

Brian Regan on Twister
We had twister. Twister was fun. But my older brothers wouldn't ever let me play when they played. So I put Vaseline on the colored circles... left leg - BROKEN!

I recommend the CD or the DVD, and though I think either is a must-have, I think the DVD may be funnier.

Brief Bio

Brian Regan grew up in Florida as one of eight children in the Regan household. He claims that, even though he and Dennis are the only two who chose the life of the standup comedian, his whole family is very funny. Brian actually made the decision to go into stand up comedy after a comment from a football coach who was perhaps less-than-impressed with his football skills but recognized a funny guy when he met one.

Brian's Comedy

Brian's appeal as a comedian comes not only from his ability to turn the everyday into something humorous, but to do so in such a manner that his material is completely non-offensive. Brian's common themes include strange things you see driving (like log trucks passing each other or horse trailers containing show horses), growing-up experiences (like the school spelling bee, science fair, or building bike ramps), and food-related humor (like serving sizes and cholesterol levels). He uses material that we can almost all relate to without going into the realm of the inappropriate.

Meeting Brian

I'll share this experience elsewhere, as well, but it's worth mentioning here. One of the factors that sold me on Brian Regan was my experience in meeting him. Already a big fan of his stand-up, I was blown away by my experience at a recent show, the first one I had been to. We decided to stick around to see if we could meet the man behind the comedy.

As luck would have it, we found his running vehicle and the exit he would use and got there just a few minutes before he left. He came out of the performing hall and, rather than shun his waiting fans (there were about 10-12 of us there by the time he showed up), he warmly greeted us individually. As we clamored for hand-shakes, autographs, and pictures, he took his time to make sure we each got what we came for. He even suggested moving into better light for the pictures when our camera phones just weren't cutting it in the darkness. In all, he spent about 15 minutes with his fans in a freezing Utah winter night. It was a noteworthy experience and all the more fulfilling as I had not previously known what to expect.
